Richard Maltby, Jr. created the piece and will also direct The Rep's production. It was originally conceived by William Meade with orchestrations by Steven Bishop and Jeff Lisenby. Malty is re-conceiving his Johnny Cash tribute specifically for a five-member ensemble for The Rep's Stackner Cabaret. The cast features Trenna Barnes, Eddie Clendening, Jason Edwards, David Miles Keenan and Mark W. Winchester, who are all making their Rep debuts. Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash runs in the Stackner Cabaret from tonight, March 1 - May 5, and opens Sunday, March 3.

Seacoast Repertory Theatre and PAPA Youth Mainstage presents it's all youth production of RENT: School Edition. After the smashing success of PAPA's 2012 youth season, it was the decision of Miles Burns and Grady O'Neil to bring back the youth Mainstage shows to Seacoast Rep. Stevan Dweck Auditorium at the Central Library, Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn Public Library (10 Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, NY 11238). On Friday, December 28 at 2pm, the program will be repeated at the Rosetta Gaston Senior Center in Brownsville (460 Dumont Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11212.) Both performances are free and open to the public. Reservations are not necessary, but seating is first come, first served.
