The music, humor, warmth and life of Marvin Hamlisch will once again grace the Heinz Hall stage whenPlay It Again, Marvin! A Marvin Hamlisch Celebration makes its world premiere with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra during the weekend of June 27, 2014.

Promoting THE WAY HE WAS, Hamlisch's widow Balir Hamlisch revealed during the TCA press tour that her late husband 'had a very large music library... there's a lot, some unpublished,' said Blair Hamlisch. 'It's floor-to-ceiling, and I've been told it's one of the largest of a modern day composer.'

The Broadway at Birdland concert series welcomed Broadway's Clarke Thorell in Songs I Wish I'd Written for one night only, Monday, August 5 at 7pm. The concert featured songs by Harry Nilsson, Paul McCartney, Adam Guettel, Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, Elvis Costello, Chris Thile, and Sting. Joining Clarke were Musical Director/pianist Dan Lipton, along with singers Brian d'Arcy James, Cortes Alexander, Haven Burton and Jim Caruso. Academy Award-winning DREAMGIRLS actress and international recording star Jennifer Hudson appeared for a short arc on the second season of the recently-cancelled NBC musical drama series SMASH and a new deleted scene featuring Hudson alongside some of the show's stars has now been released in anticipation of the forthcoming Season Two DVD set being released next week.
