The Wednesday, March 11th evening performance of SHREK THE MUSICAL marked the 100th performance of the new show on Broadway. Tonight, the cast will celebrate the milestone on stage at the Broadway Theatre. SHREK THE MUSICAL opened on Sunday, December 14, 2008.

The National Foundation for Facial Reconstruction (NFFR) presented Broadway for Medicine II featuring funny-lady Julie Halston (Hairspray, Sex and the City) and 'Professor of all things Broadway,' Sirius/XM Satellite Radio host Seth Rudetsky along with some very exciting special guests. The event took place on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Cipriani 42nd Street.
Members of the Shrek cast are set to celebrate the release of the Broadway muscial's original cast recording on March 25 at the Columbus Circle Borders. Brian d'Arcy James, Sutton Foster, Daniel Breaker, Christopher Sieber, nd John Tartaglia will be present to sign CDs at 6:00 pm.
An intimate production of 'Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens' will be performed at the Triad Theatre in Manhattan on Mar. 8 to support The Trevor Project.
Ryan Berman, a Marymount Manhattan College directing student, and Jason Haft, an NYU student, produce the benefit. The two also direct the evening with Steve Bednasz at the piano. Elizabeth Espinoza stage manages.

(The mold of his handprints and memorabilia from the show will later be displayed in the restaurant.)

Broadway lovers and teddy bear collectors came together on Sunday, February 15, at the BROADWAY BEARS XII auction, which raised a grand total of $152,116! The event was hosted by Bryan Batt with Lorna Kelly reprising her role as auctioneer. Forty specially made BROADWAY BEARS ? each dressed in original, handmade costumes representing the theater?s most legendary characters - were auctioned to the highest bidder in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Last year?s BROADWAY BEARS raised $130,878 and the grand total for all 12 Broadway Bears auctions is $1,644,077.18 with over 500 bears auctioned.
