Star-Studded FOLLIES Opens at Kennedy Center 5/21

The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' production of Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman's FOLLIES will officially open tonight, May 21, 2011 after previews which began May 7. The cast will feature two-time Tony winner Bernadette Peters as Sally Durant Plummer, four-time Tony nominee Jan Maxwellas Phyllis Rogers Stone, two-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein as Buddy Plummer, Ron Raines as Benjamin Stone and Olivier Award winner Elaine Paige as Carlotta Campion.

FOLLIES Cast Members Peters, Paige, Maxwell & More Give Insider's Look May 24

Cast members from the Kennedy Center's production of FOLLIES, including:Bernadette Peters, Danny Burstein, Jan Maxwell, Ron Raines, and Elaine Paige, are set to participate in a special insider's look at the show, complete with lively discussion and the opportunity to ask questions. The evnt will be held May 24, 2011 at 5:00 PM at Terrace Theater. Tickets are $12.00, and can be purchased by visiting: http://www.kennedy-center.org

Old Globe Extends ROBIN AND THE SEVEN HOODS Thru 8/29 And ROMANCE Thru 9/12

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that the World Premiere of Robin and the 7 Hoods - A New Musical and the West Coast Premiere of Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro's The Last Romance will each receive a week of additional performances due to popular demand.

RIALTO CHATTER: Cahn Widow Determined to Bring ROBIN AND THE 7 HOODS to Broadway

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that make no mistake about it - Robin and the 7 Hoods, which opened at San Deigo's Old Globe Theatre last Friday, July 30, is coming to town, at least if the widow of the show's lyricist has anything to do with it. Robin and the 7 Hoods, which garnered lukewarm reviews out west, features the music of Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen, including the songs 'My Kind of Town,' 'Call Me Irresponsible,' 'Ain't That a Kick in the Head,' 'All the Way' and more. Cahn was Frank Sinatra's preferred lyricist and member of the famed 'Rat Pack.'
