Heresy Records (www.heresyrecords.com) has created a special limited offer of three recordings by Irish composer, Roger Doyle (www.rogerdoyle.com). These include Time Machine, Heresy (Doyle's acclaimed electronic opera on the life and works of renaissance genius, Giordano Bruno) and The Heresy Ostracon and a unique and imaginative reworking of material from the opera.

On August 16,  Heresy Records recording artist, Roger Doyle, will receive the honor of Saoi, the highest award open to an Irish artist. Doyle will be presented with the symbol of the office of Saoi, the gold Torc by Irish President, Michael D. Higgins. The honor is bestowed by Aosdána, the state-supported association of Irish artists.

Doyle will be the twentieth artist to receive the honor since its inception in 1984. Former award-winners include Samuel Beckett, Seamus Heaney, Brian Friel and Louis Le Brocquy.

The Off-Broadway production of The Long Shrift, written by Robert Boswell and directed by James Franco, opened last night at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. The Long Shirt began previews on July 7th and will run through August 23rd. This play is James Franco's directing debut.
