According to Deadline, Malin Akerman has signed on to join the cast of Billions, an upcoming Wall Street drama written and produced by Brian Koppelman and David Levien (Ocean's Thirteen, RUNAWAY Jury, Runner Runner) and writer Andrew Ross Sorkin (Too Big to Fail).

Today, SHOWTIME announced that Oscar nominee and Emmy(R) and Golden Globe winner Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man) and Emmy and Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis (Homeland) have been cast in the lead roles of the complex, contemporary drama pilot BILLIONS. Written and executive produced by Brian Koppelman and David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin, BILLIONS is a fictional drama that takes a forensic look at the world of high finance by tracking the approaching collision between two titanic figures - the hard charging, whip-smart U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhodes (Giamatti), and the brilliant, ambitious hedge fund king, Bobby 'Axe' Axelrod (Lewis). Acclaimed director Neil Burger (The Illusionist, Divergent, Limitless) has signed on to direct the drama pilot, which will be filmed in New York in early 2015.

SHOWTIME has ordered BILLIONS, a new complex, contemporary drama pilot from a script by Andrew Ross Sorkin (Too Big To Fail), and Brian Koppelman and David Levien (Ocean's Thirteen, Rounders), who will also executive produce. BILLIONS is a fictional drama that focuses on the collision and, at times, collusion between an aggressive U.S. attorney in New York and some of the richest hedge fund billionaires in the country.BILLIONS marks the first pilot pick-up for SHOWTIME this year.

Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuaron's 3D space epic GRAVITY, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, tethered $17 million on its opening Friday and is now floating toward $48-50 million for the weekend. The Warner Bros. movie is on track to become the biggest three-day opening ever for both Bullock and Clooney and one of October's highest grossing films.

It was announced today that Frank Beddor is partnering with actor Nathan Fillion's charity Kids Need to Read for a new initiative. For every book sold by author Beddor at the upcoming Emerald City Comicon (May 1-3), and Phoenix Comicon (May 23-26), or ordered through his new Kickstarter campaign (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/149372651/hatter-m-zen-of-wonder), he will be donating one to the charity's book drive.

Emmy, Golden Globe and two time Academy Award winner Michael Douglas will be celebrated at the Film Society's 37th Annual Chaplin Award Gala on the evening of Monday May 24th at Alice Tully Hall. The limited ticket event will be attended by many of Douglas's most celebrated collaborators and friends, such as Danny Devito, Erika Christiansen, Milos Forman, Curtis Hanson, Tobey Maguire, Barbara Walters, as well as Douglas's wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and his father, the legendary Kirk Douglas, with a special performance by Michael's longtime-friend singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett, plus film clips commemorating Douglas's lauded career.
