The Public Theater began previews on Tuesday, February 15 for TIMON OF ATHENS, the inaugural production of Public LAB SHAKESPEARE featuring Richard Thomas in the title role. Directed by Shakespeare Initiative Director Barry Edelstein, TIMON OF ATHENS runs February 15 through March 6 at The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street). Directed by Shakespeare Initiative Director Barry Edelstein, TIMON OF ATHENS runs February 15 through March 6 at The Public Theater, with an official press opening on Tuesday, March 1. Single tickets go on sale on Tuesday, January 18; all tickets for Public LAB productions are $15.

Guthrie's STREETCAR Enters Final 2 Weeks

The Guthrie Theater's production of Tennessee Williams' iconic American play A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by John Miller-Stephany, is now in its final two weeks of performances in Minneapolis. Film and television actress Gretchen Egolf leads the cast in a critically acclaimed portrayal of Blanche DuBois. 'Desperate Housewives' star Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Stanley Kowalski), New York actor Brian Keane (Harold 'Mitch' Mitchell) and Twin Cities mainstay Stacia Rice (Stella Kowalski) join Egolf in the production, heralded by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine as 'one of those more-or-less definitive productions that people will remember for some time to come.'

The Guthrie Theater today announced that film and television actress Gretchen Egolf will play Blanche DuBois, joining the previously announced Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Stanley Kowalski) and Stacia Rice (Stella Kowalski), in the Theater's summer production of Tennessee Williams' classic American play A Streetcar Named Desire.

With direction by Liz Diamond, the seven-member cast features Kate Arrington as Bea, Kelly AuCoin as Johnny, Mary Bacon as Kitty, Brian Keane as Carl, Joan MacIntosh as June, Quentin Mare as Miles and CJ Wilson as Michael. Performances began on January 26, 2010 and will run through Saturday, March 6, 2010 only at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. BroadwayWorld was on hand to celebrate the evening.
