It Shoulda Been You producers Daryl Roth, Scott Landis, Jane Bergere and Jayne Baron Sherman announced today that Tony Award nominee Montego Glover (Memphis), Josh Grisetti (Peter and the Starcatcher), Michael X. Martin (The Bridges of Madison County), Anne L. Nathan (Once), Nick Spangler (Book of Mormon) and Chip Zien (Into the Woods) will join the cast of the new musical comedy, directed by David Hyde Pierce. They join previously announced stars Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris, Sierra Boggess, David Burtka, Lisa Howard, and Edward Hibbert, forming a blissful marriage of theatrical luminaries.

Producers Daryl Roth, Scott Landis, Jane Bergere, Jayne Baron Sherman and John O'Boyle announced today that It Shoulda Been You, a new musical comedy directed by David Hyde Pierce in his Broadway directorial debut, will open this spring at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street). With an original book & lyrics by Brian Hargrove and music by Barbara Anselmi, It Shoulda Been You puts a refreshingly modern spin on the traditional wedding comedy, proving that when it comes to wedding day insanity, it's all relative. Tony and Emmy Award-winner Tyne Daly and Tony Award-winner Harriet Harris headline a cast of Broadway favorites that also includes Sierra Boggess, David Burtka, Lisa Howard, Edward Hibbert and Steve Rosen. It Shoulda Been You, which had a sold-out premiere at New Jersey's George Street Playhouse, begins previews on Broadway on March 17, 2015, with an opening night date set for Tuesday, April 14, 2015.

Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU just opened last night, September 28, 2014, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street), after 32 previews. The production is directed by six-time Tony Award-nominee and Drama Desk Award winnerScott Ellis (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Twelve Angry Men, 1776) and will play a 19-week limited engagement. Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor David Hyde Pierce will join the critically acclaimed drama THE GOOD WIFE in a recurring role during the show's upcoming sixth season. Pierce will play a highly respected cable news legal commentator who is so disgusted by the corruption and murder rate in Chicago that he decides to run for office in order to affect change. The role will mark Pierce's first appearance in a television series since "Frasier" ended its run in 2004.

In 2011, BroadwayWorld reported that Brian Hargrove and Barbara Anselmi's new musical IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU, directed by David Hyde Pierce in its world premiere at the George Street Playhouse that year, would be coming to Broadway. Now according to an Equity casting notice, it seems like the show will indeed land on Broadway, with rehearsals set to begin in January 2015. The musical will open on or around March 26, 2015.

Second Stage Theatre continues its 35th Anniversary Season with Laura Eason's SEX WITH STRANGERS, directed by David Schwimmer and starring Anna Gunn and Billy Magnussen. In 2011, BroadwayWorld reported that Brian Hargrove and Barbara Anselmi's new musical IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU, directed by David Hyde Pierce in its world premiere at the George Street Playhouse that year, would be coming to Broadway. It's been a much longer wait than anticipated, but now Pierce has revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the show is prepping for arrival on the Great White Way 'in the coming season or early next year'.
