According to EWonline, a Facebook campaign has been launched to bring The Muppets, stars of the upcoming film to the podium to host the Academy Awards in February.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, comedian Ricky Gervais has offered to take over the job of hosting the 2012 Academy Awards. As recently reported, Gervais is currently in talks with NBC to return as host of the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

Tom Sherak, President of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has announced that prominent film producer Brian Grazer wil be replacing former show producer Brett Ratner for the upcoming awards ceremony
