Bets Malone to Star in La Mirada's PRIDE AND PREJUDICE World Premiere This Spring

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment announce their first-ever World Premiere musical and the fourth show of their 2014-2015 season, the runaway hit of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, JANE AUSTEN'S PRIDE AND PREJUDICE A Musical, with music, lyrics and book by Lindsay Warren Baker & Amanda Jacobs, based on the novel 'Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austen, with music direction by Timothy Splain, choreography by Jeffry Denman, and directed by Igor Goldin. JANE AUSTEN'S PRIDE AND PREJUDICE A Musical will preview on Friday, April 17, 2015 (with a press opening on Saturday, April 18) and run through Sunday, May 10, 2015 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.

Burnett will meditate upon why we destroy what we love - from the personal to the universal - and once vanished, what compels us to revive what we've lost.

Delaware's REP Presents Sean O'Casey's Irish Classic JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK

Renowned Irish stage director Ben Barnes and the Resident Ensemble Players present Sean O'Casey's Juno and the Paycock, a powerful and moving story about a mother's dream of a better life for her children during the tragedy of Ireland's civil war. Set in a Dublin tenement house full of captivating characters always ready with a song, a story, or an opinion, the production runs March 5 - 22 at the Roselle Center for the Arts.

TACT's ABUNDANCE Begins Tonight Off-Broadway

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre presents Abundance, the 1990 play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart). An epic tale of friendship set against the backdrop of the sweeping American West, Abundance will be directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, who directed last season's production of William Inge's Natural Affection. Performances begin at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) tonight, February 17, 2015.

Inis Nua Presents American Premiere of LONG LIVE THE LITTLE KNIFE, Now thru 2/22

Hot on the heels of winning five Barrymore awards, Inis Nua Theatre Company returns with the American premiere of Long Live the Little Knife by David Leddy at the Off-Broad Street Theater (First Baptist Church, 1636 Sansom Street). This fast-paced and hilarious romp features con artists turned art forgers as they tangle with Russian oligarchs, brothels, castrated labradoodles and spirit mediums.

Lee Roy Reams to Emcee TACT's CATCH A RISING STAR Benefit at the Met Room Next Month

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre will hold its Winter Benefit on Monday, December 1st at The Metropolitan Room (34 West 22nd Street). The festive evening entitled 'Catch A Rising Star' will be emceed by legendary Broadway song and dance man Lee Roy Reams and will feature musical performances by eight young up-and-coming Broadway talents. The evening will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by the show at 7:00 p.m.

Fear not fans of subversive holiday entertainment. Theater Wit is re-gifting Chicago with its 11th annual production of The Santaland Diaries, based on David Sedaris' true comic tale of his hilarious stint as one of Santa's elves at Macy's Department Store.

The U.S. Premiere of A PARTICLE OF DREAD (OEDIPUS VARIATIONS) by Sam Shepard, directed by Nancy Meckler, will play through Sunday, January 4, 2015. A PARTICLE OF DREAD (OEDIPUS VARIATIONS) begins performances tonight, November 11 and opens Sunday, November 23 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

The Washington Stage Guild begins its 2014-15 Season of Love and/or Marriage with the Washington area premiere of PEN by David Marshall Grant, playing October 30 through November 23. In the production directed by Kasi Campbell, a divorced couple wrangle over their college-bound son's future, and while the boy's life is about to change, he and his mother undergo perplexing changes themselves. It's 1969, the end of a turbulent decade, and the turmoil in the country is only one factor as Matt and his parents struggle to stay connected. The bonds of a family some would call broken, expressed in Grant's sharp and pointed dialogue, made this funny, touching play an off-Broadway hit.

Official: James McAvoy Will Lead THE RULING CLASS at Trafalgar; Jamie Lloyd to Direct

BAFTA winning and Golden Globe nominated actor James McAvoy (Filth, The Last King of Scotland, Atonement, X-Men) returns to Trafalgar Transformed, following his performance in Jamie Lloyd's Macbeth, which launched the first Trafalgar Transformed season and earned him an Olivier award nomination for Best Actor, and for the production a nomination for Best Revival. McAvoy will play Jack, the 14th Earl of Gurney, in the first revival of Peter Barnes' satirical comedy, The Ruling Class, directed by Artistic Director, Jamie Lloyd. The production runs from 16 January to 11 April 2015, with press night on 27 January. Design is by Soutra Gilmour, with lighting by Jon Clark and sound by Ben and Max Ringham.

Skidmore Theater Presents DANCING AT LAUGHNASA, Now thru 10/22

The Skidmore College Department of Theater is pleased to announce its Fall 2014 black box production, DANCING AT LUGHNASA, by Brian Friel. This production is directed by Marie Glotzbach. Performances are today, October 16-22, 2014. All shows are in the Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater at 8:00pm, except for a Sunday matinee at 2:00pm.
