True Colors Theatre Company and Jujamcyn Theaters have announced that the 8th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition will take place on Monday, May 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street).  

Public radio show and podcast PLAYING ON AIR, which features live recordings of short American plays, returns to BRIC House (647 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn) on December 7 at 7:30pm with three shorts by David Auburn, Max Baker and Jessica Dickey, all recorded live. And the show just announced the addition of award-winning actor Peter Gallagher ('American Beauty,' TV's 'The O.C.') to its impressive roster of talent performing at their annual benefit for the organization.

On Monday, November 30, playwright, novelist and songwriter Suzan-Lori Parks was awarded the 22nd annual Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prizeat The Public Theater in New York City.

Dirden, an award-winning actor who is making his directorial debut with this production. Seven Guitars is the third play in Wilson's American Century Cycle produced by Two River, following the theater's acclaimed mountings of Jitney and Two Trains Running. Performances will begin in Two River's Rechnitz Theater, 21 Bridge Avenue, on Saturday, September 12 and continue through Sunday, October 4. Jujamcyn Theaters and True Colors Theatre Company (Kenny Leon, Co-Founding Artistic Director) have announced that Moye Light  from Atlanta has won first place at the 7th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition  held on Monday, May 4th at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street). Cameron Southerland from Atlanta was the runner-up, and an honorable mention went to Jonathan German from New York City. The event, which was free and open to the public, featured high school students from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, Portland and Seattle performing monologues by the late, legendary American playwright.
