Legendary American actress, director, singer, producer, composer, philanthropist and activist Barbra Streisand will receive an honorary doctor of philosophy degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The ceremony will take place today, June 17, during the 76th Hebrew University International Board of Governors Meeting.

Minnie's Menagerie, a peculiar Depression-era sideshow, is raking it in with the help of Daedalus's whimsical technology. But when Daedalus's son falls in love with Minnie's daughter, the star attraction, their passion and plans to escape threaten to bring it all crashing down.

Cape May Stage will present the world premiere of New Jersey playwright Shawn Fisher's How to Make a Rope Swing: the inaugural production of the Equity theatre's 25th anniversary season. Directed by Emmy nominee Roy Steinberg, How to Make a Rope Swing, is a dramatic story about long-buried secrets in a Jersey Shore town, and will feature guest performers Lynn Cohen and Barry Phillips along with Ben Rosenblatt. Winner of the Edgerton Foundation New American Plays Award, How to Make a Rope Swing opens Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m. at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse on Bank and Lafayette Streets.
