Writers Theatre to Continue 2016-17 Season with THE SCENE

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, continues its 2016/17 season with The Scene, written by Theresa Rebeck and directed by Kimberly Senior.

The Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism Announces Inaugural Program Series

With the backdrop of the Holocaust as the most extreme example of anti-Semitism in the modern era, the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, which serves as New York's Holocaust Museum, launches The Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism with a series of programs exploring contemporary issues of hate, hosted by The Center's director, Abraham H. Foxman, internationally renowned as a leader in the fight against anti-Semitism and bigotry.

Theresa Rebeck Headlines 4th Wall Theatre's Inaugural Play Reading Festival

4th Wall Theatre Company launches its inaugural play reading festival, 4th Wall Reads:  Women's Voices.  Running March 2nd - March 12th at STUDIO 101, the festival showcases five exceptional female playwrights, including Pulitzer Prize finalist and renowned playwright Theresa Rebeck who is headlining the event.  The five plays, which are new to Houston audiences and range from insightful comedies to hard-hitting dramas, will be read twice over the 10-day festival with each reading to be followed by moderated talk-backs.  All general admission tickets are Pay What You Can, with a limited number of reserved seats available for advance purchase.

U.S. Pavilion Features New Work by Mark Bradford and Collaboration with Rio Terà dei Pensieri

The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University and The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA), in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs, will present Mark Bradford as the representative for the United States at La Biennale di Venezia 57th International Art Exhibition, on view from May 13 to November 26, 2017. Los Angeles-based Bradford, a leading light in contemporary art, will create new works in a variety of media-presented alongside existing work-for Tomorrow Is Another Day, co-curated by Christopher Bedford, BMA Dorothy Wagner Wallis Director and commissioner for the project; and Katy Siegel, BMA Senior Programming and Research Curator.

The New Colony Announces 2017 Season

The New Colony is pleased to announce its full 2017 Season, featuring four world premiere productions by four Chicago playwrights. The season kicks off this winter with ensemble member Sean Kelly's fantasy adventure PSYCHONAUT LIBRARIANS, directed by Krissy Vanderwarker.

Roald Dahl's Fantastic Adventure JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH Extends at A.R.T.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Director Diane Quinn, has announced that due to popular demand for its production of James and the Giant Peach, it has added two performances, on Saturday, January 7 at 10AM and Sunday, January 8 at 10AM.

JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH to Roll Into A.R.T. This December

Following previous season's sold-out holiday hits, The Snow Queen, Hansel and Gretel, The Light Princess, and The Pirate Princess, the A.R.T. Institute presents James and the Giant Peach, adapted for the stage by David Wood from the book by Roald Dahl, directed by A.R.T. Institute alumnus Dmitry Troyanovsky, featuring actors from the A.R.T. Institute Class of 2017. 

Grippo Stage Company Announces Revival of THE GOD OF ISAAC

Grippo Stage Company will present a revival of the heartfelt and comedic hit THE GOD OF ISAAC, playwright James Sherman's semi-autobiographical account of a young American Jew searching for his Jewish identity in the wake of the threatened neo-Nazi march in the Chicago suburb of Skokie in 1977.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble Announces 'The Mind/Body Connection' 2017 Season

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble announces its 2017 Season, 'The Mind/Body Connection.' The season includes three new plays linked under this mind/body connection and told from distinctly female perspectives. These bold works explore how we separate our primal, instinctive physical beings from our intellectual and emotional selves. The season will be performed at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago.
