IN THE WORKS Opens at the Duplex Sunday 5/21

On Sunday May 21st at 9:30pm, Honeck-Moss Productions is proud to present "In The Works." This exciting monthly series was conceived as an opportunity for composers to try out new work in front of an audience and see how it plays in a supportive environment. It is also an opportunity to create community among the composers and their performers.

The Duplex CABARET THEATER is located at 61 Christopher Street (on 7th Avenue, just off the 1 train). This month features the works of composers: Andre Catrini, Joel B. New and Rachel Peters. Hosted by Amanda Yesnowitz.

Andre Catrini is a composer/lyricist, repertoire/audition coach and musical director currently based out of NYC. He is a member of the BMI-Lehman Engel Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop, a graduate of the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati (CCM), and a proud ASCAP and Dramatists Guild member. He is the recipient of the 2014 ASCAP Foundation Cole Porter Award, given "in recognition for his outstanding talent as a musical theatre composer and lyricist," as well as a 2015 New Voices Project Merit Award.

Andre is presently developing the music and lyrics for several new musicals, including A Game Called Life (book by Laura Zlatos). Joel B. New is a composer, lyricist, bookwriter, producer, and performer. Joel is the proud recipient of an American Theatre Wing Jonathan Larson Grant for his music and lyrics. His stage projects include TO HELL AND BACK, MACKENZIE & THE MISSING BOY, AWAKENING (book: Jenny Stafford, music: J. Oconer Navarro), STANDALONE: A SONG CYCLE, AGATHA IN THE ATTIC, RSVP, and the highly anticipated MONKEY TROUBLE UNLEASHED! Joel's work has been seen and developed at Ars Nova, Lincoln Center, New York Theatre Barn, Prospect Theater Company, Broadway Au Carre in Paris, Musical Theatre Factory, and the New York Musical Festival. He is also the creator and host of "Something New," currently in its fifth season and named one of the Top 20 Podcasts for Theatre Fans by BroadwayWorld.com. Joel's debut solo EP Cabot Cove -- a collection of "theatre pop" songs inspired by the classic TV series Murder, She Wrote -- is available on Broadway Records.
