Investigation Discovery to Launch New Series HEARTBREAKERS, 8/13

As young girls, we wished upon a star that someday a prince - preferably one of TV royalty - would sweep us off our feet and we'd live happily ever after. But then we grew up and learned the hard way that heartthrobs can be real heartbreakers. In Investigation Discovery's (ID) original new series HEARTBREAKERS, hunky Hollywood actors from the '80s and '90s reunite on screen to portray real-life dreamboats who turned into total nightmares.

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Releases Midweek Teachers' Resource Guides

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) announces its release of their all-new Midweek Teachers' Resource Guides for use in conjunction with the BSO's Midweek Education Concerts. The easy-to-use guides connect each Midweek Education concert to essential curricular subjects, and introduce fun, exciting and innovative ways for teachers to provide deeper learning opportunities for their students. Each guide includes musical, STEM and language arts resources for What Beethoven Heard (October 30 & 31, 2013), The Snowman (December 5 & 6, 2013), America the Beautiful (February 4 & 5, 2014) and Carnival of the Animals (February 6 & 7, 2014).Please see below for complete program details.

McCarter Theatre Adds 6/9 Performance of INTO THE WOODS

Due to popular demand, McCarter Theatre has announced one additional performance of its smash-hit production of Into the Woods as reimagined by Fiasco Theater Company. Thanks to sold-out houses, great reviews, and nightly standing ovations, McCarter had previously announced it had extended the run through the matinee performance on Sunday, June 9. But fans will get one more chance! This innovative new production of the Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine musical-theater classic must close after the added evening performance on Sunday, June 9 at 7:30pm.

Bob Brown Releases THE RIDE OF MY LIFE

Pancreatic cancer survivor, author and inspirational speaker Bob Brown has announced the release of his first book, "The Ride of My Life," a memoir of his cancer journey that has been praised as an informative and entertaining book offering an inspiring account of Bob's own personal challenge with cancer. It has become the go-to-book for those newly diagnosed patients and their families, as well as others who may be facing different obstacles with a need to be inspired and continue the battle, no matter what they are facing.

Shizuo Z. Kuwahara Leads the BSO in Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, 4/6

Shizuo Z. Kuwahara conducts Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. This fairytale favorite will be illuminated through performances by beloved narrator Rheda Becker and Bob Brown Puppets. Children age five and up are welcome to attend.
