The Beach Boys were in a career low, and Maharishi had begun to fade from his media darling days as the Indian 'guru' to the Beatles, Mia Farrow, the Beach Boys and others. The Wick Theatre has been keeping audiences entertained for months now with their dynamic Supper Club Cabarets, which take place in the grand lobby, but now the time has come to open the doors to the main theatre! Thursday evening Jerry Lee Lewis was one of five legends inducted into The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX) Hall of Fame. Although Lewis was unable to attend the ceremony hosted by Marty Stuart, Jerry Lee Lewis III accepted the award on his behalf with his father's sister, Linda Gail Lewis, who performed her brother's major hits “Great Balls of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shakin.'”

Two Bird Stone is a dynamic new band founded by singer/songwriter Liam Thomas Bailey and featuring some of Nashville's and New York's finest musicians. The band formed in 2019 and will release their debut album, Hands & Knees, on September 11th via Soundly Music.

Award-winning vocalist Alexis P. Suter brings her hearty mix of blues, gospel, and blues-rock, along with her smoking-hot band, to Club Helsinki Hudson on Saturday, March 14, at 9pm. Suter is especially known for her extraordinary bass/baritone voice; she includes Ruth Brown, Barry White, and B.B. King as her greatest influences.

The Recording Academy® welcomes the newest inductions to its distinguished GRAMMY Hall Of Fame®, continuing its ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating timeless recordings. This year's additions recognize a diverse range of both single and album recordings at least 25 years old that exhibit qualitative or historical significance. Recordings are reviewed each year by a special member committee comprised of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts, with final approval by the Recording Academy's National Board of Trustees. With 26 new titles, the Hall, now in its 47th year, currently totals 1,114 recordings. The 2020 GRAMMY Hall Of Fame inductions are available to stream via a playlist here.

Bette Davis and John Wayne to Bo Diddley and Bob Dylan, the State Theatre in Portland has seen its share of stars since it first opened its doors on November 8, 1929. On Friday, November 8, 2019, the theatre will kick off a celebration of its 90th birthday with a week-long scavenger hunt around Portland with ticket and merchandise giveaways to mark the historic occasion. Details will be available via the State Theatre pages on Facebook and Instagram. Additional special events will be planned for November and December.

Out Friday, Singles Too collects Screaming Females' complete non-album recordings, gathering together early 7” singles, digital-only b-sides, and one pretty great remix. The download and CD will also feature six cover songs, including the New Jersey trio's takes on music by Neil Young, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, and Patti Smith.
