UK's The Magic Numbers Return With New Single SWEET DIVIDE From Upcoming OUTSIDERS Album

“Coming out of the shadows running,” The Magic Numbers are making their return withOutsiders, their first new album in four years. The Mercury Prize-nominated quartet summons the powers of Neil Young, Howlin' Wolf, and Fleetwood Mac for an outlaw, open-road Americana feel, while retaining “elements of their trademark sweetness,” according to CLASH. “Sweet Divide,” the existentialist, Youngesque first single, is now available to stream, and Outsiders will be released May 11.

SaraSolo Festival 2018 Announces Festival Award Recipients

The 2018 SaraSolo Festival, the fourth celebration of theatre and solo artists, was held January 27-February 4, 2018. This annual theater festival features an eclectic mix of 45-90-minute solo performances by national and international artists - featuring music, dance, cabaret, comedy, magic, poetry, performance art, stand-up, storytelling and visual art creation as well as biographical, autobiographical and poetic plays.

Guitarist/Composer Julian Lage Premieres New Album on NPR's First Listen

Grammy-award nominated Julian Lage's second trio album, Modern Lore (Mack Avenue Records), will be released next Friday, February, 2. The album is available to be heard in its entirety now via follows Lage's 2017 collaborative jazz album Mount Royal with guitarist/singer Chris Eldridge, which has been nominated for a Best Contemporary Instrumental Album Grammy.

Now an annual musical event in Folsom, Mark Hummel's Blues Harmonica Blowout is a show no blues lover dares to miss. World-class rhythm and blues/ boogie-woogie pianist Jools Holland has become a British institution over the last 25 plus years, having achieved worldwide acclaim as host of the immensely popular Later....With Jools Holland on BBC Two Television since its debut in 1992. Holland will now perform live in New York City, his first U.S. performance in more than 15 years, at the legendary Blue Note.

BWW Review: MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET at Seven Angels Theatre

The Million Dollar Quartet comes alive in Waterbury, with a rock n' roll musical show with talented live musicians who portray Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis in what commemorates a one time collaboration between these four legends of rock n' roll, while honoring Sam Phillips, owner of Sun Records, the company that launched their careers. I highly recommend this show for great music and a glimpse at some of the history behind the music!

Steve Earle Comes to Boulder Theater 8/4

Almost twenty years ago, Steve Earle and I took a ride through South Nashville. It was down those mean streets that Steve had spent his famous "hiatus" in the early 1990's mostly shooting dope. It was a crazy, unprecedented thing. Here was a guy - the supposed "new face" of outlaw country - who had already put out a near unbroken string of instant classics, including chart hits like "Guitar Town," "Someday," and the immortal "Copperhead Road." And he just up and disappears, drops from sight for four years, making no records, playing no shows.

It was established by Act of Congress in 2003, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans. To date, the Museum has collected more than 36,000 artifacts and nearly 100,000 individuals have become charter members. The Museum opened to the public on September 24, 2016, as the 19th and newest museum of the Smithsonian Institution.
