MCC Theater has announced a one-night-only benefit reading of Neil LaBute's play, Fat Pig, directed by LaBute, to be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 7PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street).

Ari Graynor, Stefania LaVie Owen and Justice Smith join Lucas Hedges in the American premiere of Yen, Anna Jordan's Bruntwood Prize-winning play, directed by MCC alum Trip Pullman at MCC Theater. 

MCC Theater is conducting a casting search for transgender and gender non-conforming performers, as it prepares for the newly announced first show of its 2017-18 Season: the NYC premiere of Charm, a play by Chicago-based, Jefferson Award-winning playwright Philip Dawkins to be directed by Helen Hayes Award winner Will Davis, a transgender artist.

MCC Theater has added more star wattage to its benefit reading of a new Neil LaBute play, Reasons to be Pretty Happy: previously announced headliner Paul Rudd will now be joined by Emmy nominee Amber Tamblyn, two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz and NYC stage veteran Jennifer Mudge for this one-night-only world premiere developmental reading on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 7:30PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

MCC Theater - which this fall celebrates its 30th Anniversary Season as one of New York's leading Off-Broadway theater companies - has announced the 2016 PlayLabs reading series, which will feature new works in development by playwrights Jocelyn Bioh, MCC Youth Company alum Xavier Galva, Ted Malawer, and Eric Micha Holmes.

Beth Behrs, the star of CBS's 2 BROKE GIRLS, leads the cast of the world premiere of Halley Feiffer's comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City at MCC Theater. Behrs is joined by Obie winner Lisa Emery, most recently seen on the hit Netflix drama JESSICA JONES, as well as stage veteran Jacqueline Sydney and Erik Lochtefeld. Just last night, MCC Theater's Miscast gala, an annual highlight of the New York theater season, honored Oscar winning star of stage & screen and MCC alum Marisa Tomei. The gala featured show-stopping performances by Emmy Award nominee Tituss Burgess; Tony Award winners Lea Salonga and Linda Lavin; Tony Award nominee Keala Settle; and stage and screen stars Aaron Tveit, Beth Behrs, Cynthia Erivo, Ana Villafañe, and Shanice Williams. MCC Theater broke ground today on its first permanent home, which will unite the company's diverse roster of programs under one roof for the first time in its three-decade history. MCC Artistic Directors Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, and William Cantler were joined by Executive Director Blake West, members of the Board of Directors, New York City's Department of Cultural Affairs Commissioner Tom Finkelpearl, and members of the Theater's extended community of theater artists. MCC Theater announced today that it will break ground on its first permanent home on March 22, 2016. Set to open in 2018, the space will unite MCC's diverse roster of programs under one roof for the first time in the company's three-decade history. The new facility will also allow MCC to expand its programming and establish it as a cultural anchor within the Clinton neighborhood. One of New York's leading nonprofit Off-Broadway companies, the institution fosters the dynamic exchange of ideas between artists, audiences, and young people through its productions of world, American, and New York premiere plays and musicals, a robust playwright development initiative, and one of the nation's leading arts education programs.

MCC THEATER presents Noah Haidle's Smokefall, playing through Sunday, March 20th. It was previously scheduled through March 13th.  Smokefall by Noah Haidle, directed by Anne Kauffman, stars Emmy nominated star of stage and screen Zachary Quinto, indie film icon and television star Robin Tunney, and NYC theater veterans Tom Bloom, Brian Hutchison, and Taylor Richardson. MCC Theater welcomes film and television star Robin Tunney, making her stage debut opposite Zachary Quinto in the New York premiere of SMOKEFALL by Noah Haidle, directed by Anne Kauffman, who directed The Nether for MCC last season to great acclaim. SMOKEFALL will play the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street), opening tonight, February 22, for an extended run through March 20, 2016.
