Westport's MTC School of Performing Arts Now Registering for Fall 2012

Music Theatre of Connecticut School of Performing Arts, located in Westport, is currently registering for the fall term, which begins Monday, September 10. MTC offers classes for students ages 4 and up, and is also accepting registration for the student production of the hit musical 'Annie,' which will be performed at the legendary Westport Country Playhouse. Classes will take place at Music Theatre of Connecticut, convenietntly located in downtown Westport at 246 Post Road East. Ron Holgate and Roger Robinson Set for CEASEFIRE Reading at Berkshire Playwrights Lab, 8/22

Berkshire Playwrights Lab will present a staged reading of James DeMarse's new play, Ceasefire, on Wednesday, August 22 at 7:30pm at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center (14 Castle Street, Great Barrington, Mass.). Directed by Joe Cacaci, the production will feature Tony Award-winning actors Ron Holgate and Roger Robinson, along with Kofi Boakye, Mickey Solis, and two actors to be announced. There is no charge for admission, however, Berkshire Playwrights Lab suggests a $10.00 donation to help offset its programming costs. Science Channel Acquires Off-Network Syndication Rights for FRINGE

SCIENCE today announced that the network has acquired the off-network syndication rights to FRINGE, the acclaimed dramatic series from creators J.J. Abrams (Lost, the Star Trek and Mission: Impossible movies), Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek, Transformers) and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers), and executive producers Jeff Pinkner (Alias, Lost), J.H. Wyman (The Mexican, Keen Eddie) and Bryan Burk (Lost, Alias, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol). The agreement with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution grants the network the rights to the four existing seasons of the series as well as the upcoming fifth season which debuts on FOX this fall (Fridays 9/8c), as well as behind-the-scenes features and unseen bonus footage. FRINGE will begin airing on SCIENCE in the fourth quarter of 2012.
