FELA! will receive Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) fourth annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The award, the only industry award of its kind, honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical. The award ceremony will be held in the Council Room, at Equity's headquarters in the heart of Times Square on Tuesday, September 28, 2010.
Miami City Ballet has been selected to make its debut at the 2010 Fall for Dance Festival at New York's City Center September 28th and 29th, 2010. The company will perform Twyla Tharp's 'The Golden Section.' The festival, running September 28th - October 9th, 2010, will showcase 20 dance companies and choreographers from across the United States and around the world. Miami City Ballet is one of ten dance companies making their debut in the festival. 'We are thrilled to perform, as it builds on our ongoing successful relationship with New York City Center, where the company made its debut in 2009,' said Edward Villella, founding artistic director and CEO of Miami City Ballet.

Jacob's Pillow Dance announces the conclusion of an artistically and fiscally successful Festival, complete with record-breaking attendance numbers and increased ticketed income. The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Harold Clurman Center for New York in Movement and Dance Theater will honor Alexandra Wells on Thursday, September 30th. The evening will feature performances by Sidra Bell Dance New York, Andrea Miller's Gallim Dance, Austin McCormick's Company XIV and more. Margie Gillis will present the MAD Spirit Award to Alexandra Wells. Little did composer/lyricist Jerry Herman know that when he wrote that lyric for LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, he was actually predicting his own future. The original production of LA CAGE opened to enormous critical acclaim in 1983 and is currently receiving its second revival on Broadway in The Menier Chocolate Factory's brilliantly scaled-down version. The second act showstopper in every version is 'The Best of Times' which inevitably has the audience singing along when it's performed during the final bows. It's also the song that seems to be going through Herman's head ever since August 13th when he learned he'd been named to receive one of this year's Kennedy Center Honors.

Tony Award-winner Lillias White (who received a 2010 Tony Nomination for her performance in this production) will play her final performance on September 12.
