ImprovBoston expands their scholarship base to provide opportunities for individuals representing minority groups to learn the art of improvisational comedy. Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to explore the power of comedy through eight-week class sessions offered at ImprovBoston's nationally-acclaimed Comedy School. The ImprovBoston Outreach Scholarship will be awarded to an individual identifying with a cultural/racial minority who has a passion to learn improvisational comedy.

At 26, Marc became the youngest comedy club owner in America when he and his partners bought the historic Ice House in Pasadena, California. From there, he joined legendary L.A. radio personality Rick Dees, who asked Marc to help develop and produce The Rick Dees Comedy Concerts. That association led to seven sold-out shows at such venues as the Universal Amphitheater, Pasadena Civic Auditorium, and Long Beach Terrace Theater. On July 2, playwright, author and screenwriter Liz Meriwether will join The Writers' Room with Reza Aslan, a refreshing take on the typically staid literary event that includes a live house band, cocktails, and audience interaction. Staged the first Wednesday of every month, The Writer's Room is an intimate yet fast-paced conversation with some of today's most compelling poets, novelists, non-fiction writers and screenwriters.
