The Banff World Media Festival is proud to announce beloved Canadian actor, songwriter and TV game and talk show host, Alan Thicke, as the recipient of this year's prestigious Canadian Award of Distinction.
Actor/playwright Joseph Assadourian, like Charles Dutton and Lead Belly before him, discovered his theatrical voice while serving time behind bars. His new one-man play, The Bullpen, which he wrote and stars in, will begin an open-ended Off-Broadway engagement at The Playroom Theater (151 West 46th Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue) on Thursday, June 12th. Richard Hoehler directs this black comedy, which features Assadourian in 18 different roles. Opening night is set Sunday June 22nd.

The nonprofit comedy arts organization celebrates the heroic acts of the city's first responders that saved so many lives and united a city one year ago this Tuesday. ImprovBoston will also collect donations for the One Fund during shows. As a 501(c)3 theater serving the community through laughter, the members of the ImprovBoston community believe in the power of laughter to bring together communities. As Artistic Director Mike Descoteaux puts it, 'ImprovBoston's mission is to improve the lives of diverse audiences both onstage and off.
