Gloucester Stage continues the 2012 season with Bill Cain's powerful 9 Circles in a special two limited run through August 26 in the air-conditioned comfort of Gloucester Stage Company at 267 East Main St., Gloucester, MA. Directed by Gloucester Stage Artistic Director Eric C. Engel, 9 Circles is a raw, emotionally charged quest for salvation set against the backdrop of war. Victory Gardens Theater Presents EQUIVOCATION, 9/14-10/14

Victory Gardens opens its 2012-13 season with the Chicago Premiere of Equivocation, written by Bill Cain and directed by Sean Graney. The production runs September 14 - October 14, 2012 at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park. The Press Opening is Monday, September 24, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

Nate Lewellyn to Star in HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON at Chicago Children's Theatre, 10/11-11/4

Itinerant no longer, Chicago Children's Theatre (CCT) and Artistic Director Jacqueline Russell are looking forward to welcoming family audiences this fall to the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn St., Chicago - CCT's first permanent home in the company's seven-year history. CCT presents Harold and the Purple Crayon, based on the beloved children's books by Crockett Johnson, directed by top Chicago director Sean Graney. Performances are October 11-November 4, 2012. Press opening is Friday, October 12 at 6:30 pm.

Marin Theatre Company Opens Submissions for 2013 New Play Awards; 1st Deadline 8/31

Marin Theatre Company Artistic Director Jasson Minadakis announced today that MTC is now accepting submissions for the 2013 Sky Cooper New American Play Prize and 2013 David Calicchio Emerging American Playwright Prize through August 31, 2012. The company will announce the 2012 winners by the end of the month.

South Coast Repertory's 49th season will offer audiences an exciting blend of current hits and world premieres. The Ojai Playwrights Conference announced today additional stars to its 15th Anniversary Season Gala Benefit themed "Body and Soul: An OPC Cabaret" - A Musical and Theatrical Celebration of the Mystery, Magnificence and Madness of Living! Scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2012, the Benefit begins at 5:30 pm at Matilija Auditorium with a dramatic and musical event created especially for this evening by OPC Artistic Director and Producer Robert Egan. The evening will honor Award-winning playwright Bill Cain and OPC Board Member and Award-winning actress Dana Delany.

Director Tony Taccone, Boston College Grad, to Receive Alumni Award

Boston College alumnus and accomplished theater director Tony Taccone-artistic director of the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in Berkeley, California, one of the most prominent regional theaters in the country-returns to campus this month as the special guest and alumni honoree at the University's 14th annual Arts Festival, which will be held April 26-28, 2012. Taccone will make a number of public appearances while on campus.

PTC@Play Expands Into Annual Festival

Philadelphia Theatre Company will expand its PTC@Play project into an annual Festival beginning next spring thanks to support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part of its Knight Arts Challenge, a $9 million initiative supporting innovative projects that inspire and enrich Philadelphia's communities.
