With the recent publication of I Loved You More(Hawthorne Books, $18.95), his fifth novel, Tom Spanbauer takes on a new landscape in publishing while wrestling with history--most conspicuously his own. The novel moves from New York City in the '80s to Portland, Ore., in the '90s, as a love triangle develops between a gay man, his straight friend and the woman who loves both. The book began, Spanbauer recalls, when a straight friend passed away. 'I had all this processing to do, and when I couldn't process anymore I started lying.' In other words, thinking in terms of fiction, while drawing a line between his own experiences and his characters' lives.

Hospitality Queen Susan Buckley and Producing Artistic Director, Jacob Langfelder helped launch the new 14,000 square foot event space 42West in a big way over the weekend with appearances by Tony and Grammy Award-Winner, Billy Porter (Kinky Boots, Billy's Back on Broadway) as well as Elizabeth A. NYC Haunt Holdings has announced that it will present a special evening of fright for gay men and women tonight, October 16th (7 - 11PM) at KILLERS: A NIGHTMARE HAUNTED HOUSE - a horrifying, immersive haunted house experience about serial killers both real and fictional. The evening of sheer fright will take place at the much talked about "serial killer" themed haunted house. A portion of the evening's proceeds will go to Broadway Cares / Equity Fights Aids.
