The Motor City Tap Festival has become one of the county's top Tap Festivals, now entering its ninth year August 10-13, 2016.

Goodman Theatre has announced Broadway stars John Dossett and Douglas Sills will join the cast of War Paint, a new musical starring two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole as Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden, respectively. Dossett will portray Tommy Lewis, Miss Arden's husband and chief marketing officer, and Sills will portray the ambitious Harry Fleming, Madame Rubinstein's clubby confidante and faithful ally.

Barbra Streisand will finally be singing 'Rose's Turn' now that her long-in-the-wings GYPSY film has found a director in RAIN MAN Oscar-winner Barry Levinson (who also wrote the book for Sheryl Crow's musical DINER).

When accomplished concert singer and cabaret performer Lisa Jason was a child, her family moved from Long Island, New York to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and the transition would not be a happy one. A self-admitted "ugly duckling," Lisa endured relentless bullying from other kids-both mental and physical-from early grade school through her high school graduation. At a time when social media has contributed to making bullying a major American societal problem, Lisa Jason wants tell her poignant story through the music of the 1970s that she loved throughout her childhood. Her delightful voice and self-deprecating humor makes BULLIED TO BEAUTIFUL a cabaret show that audiences not only will identify with, but that will also send a powerful message that bullying needs to be stopped. His trendy dance shoes were also worn in the hit movie musical, Chicago, and in Katy Perry's acclaimed performance in last year's Super Bowl XLIX halftime show.

Marc Shaiman and his partner Lou Mirabal were married today, at the end of Lieutenant Commander Mirabal's retirement ceremony, honoring his more than 20 years of service to our country. The wedding was officiated by Tom Kirdahy (The Visit, Mother and Sons) in New Jersey. Wedding guests included Bette Midler, Whoopi Goldberg, Julia Murney, Nathan Lane, Mark Sendroff, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Darlene Love and many others. Pictures from both ceremonies were uploaded to Instagram earlier today, and you can check them out below!
