Lakewood ends its 2009-10 season with the hit musical that closed on Broadway in 2008... Curtains. This hilarious show-within-a-show, murder mystery musical is a real knock-out tribute to show business, with music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb - the composer/lyricist team from Cabaret and Chicago.
The Blank Theatre Company's 17th Annual Nationwide Young Playwrights Festival has chosen 12 winning plays by teenaged playwrights, aged 15 -19 from 7 different states. The winning plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in the month-long Festival at The Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood beginning June 4, 2009.
Awards were handed out for 14 categories and 2 special awards are announced by the Off-Broadway League for the Lucille Lortel Awards recognizing Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. This year?s ceremony benefits The Actors Fund. A list of nominees follows below.

Presenters at the ceremony will include Jeremy Irons, Parker Posey, Kerry Butler, John Glover, Marsha Mason and Phyllis Newman, amongst others.

'I Got Love' starring Anastacia McCleskey played the Laurie Beechman Theater on October 22 & 23. In the new cabaret/musical revue, McCleskey sang her way through a variety of genres: Broadway, jazz, rhythm and blues and gospel.
