Photo Coverage: HAIR Celebrates 300th Performance!

Monday night marked the 300th performnce for the national tour of HAIR, now performing at Broadways St James Theatre. The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR kicked of its first national tour at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on October 28, 2010 (following a preview engagement in New Haven, CT) and played 20 cities around the country before heading back to Broadway for a limited 'Summer of Love' run at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). Following this Broadway engagement, which ends on Saturday, September 10, the cast heads back out on tour. For a full list of touring cities, visit www.HairOnTour.com. Lark Announces PLAYWRIGHTS' WEEK 2011

The Lark Play Development Center announced that seven plays-in-development have been chosen for its 18th annual Playwrights' Week, which will kick off on Tuesday, September 20 at 8pm with the Meet the Writers event and reception, where writers will read excerpts from their work.

On the Square Productions Features MINERVAE, UNWRAPPED, et al. in 2011-12 Season

On the Square Productions, an award winning not for profit theatre company, announces their season on August 29th, 2011. On the Square has worked with has worked with such talents as Cyrilla Baer (The Adding Machine, Uncle Vanya at CSC), Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd, Rockof Ages, Candide-Helen Hayes Award, Ten Cents a Dance-Williamstown), Wesley Taylor (Rock of Ages, The Addams Family, Tales From the City- ACT), Marnie Schulenburg (As The World Turns, South Pacific- Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival). Highlights for the upcoming season include readings by playwrights Delaney Britt Brewer (Youngblood Playwrights) and Jacqueline Goldfinger (current semi-finalist F.Otto Haas award for Emerging Philadelphia Theatre Artist, nominee 2010 L. Arnold Weissberger Award). Other highlights include The Festival of Dionysia:Ten Minute Play Festival, and a site specific production of The Minervae by Steven Bost for the Queens community. On the Square Productions is currently nominated for a New York Innovative Theatre Award for Best Short Script for their 2010 production at The Flea Theater of Monroe, Illinois: Over Here/Townie by Aaron Wigdor Levy (Public Theatre Emerging Writers Group).

Richard Vida Joins LES MIS Tour as 'Thenardier' in Denver Tonight, 8/30

New York's Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director) and Joey Parnes have announced that HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will once again rock Broadway this evening, following a one-day shuttering this past Saturday due to Hurricane Irene. Tonight's 7:00 PM performance will also mark the national tour's 300th performance. New York's Public Theater has announced that the final performances of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical on Broadway will all offer special deals and programs for students, Aquarians, foreigners, HAIR fans and more, kicking off on Thursday, August 25th with a foursquare Swarm-In in Times Square, at which fans are encouraged to join the Tribe for a Be-In Performance in Times Square, where they can unlock a special discount if enough people check in via the social networking site foursquare. The show ends its 'Summer of Love' run at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street) on Saturday, September 10th before heading back out on its national tour.
