Civic Theatres Toronto today announced the line-up for Best of the Fringe - the best from the recent 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival.

2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece, Pulp Fiction. To celebrate, Hollywood's raucous concert troupe, 'For The Record,' is taking their show on the road. As BroadwayWorld previousuly reported,  David Cook ('American Idol' Winner, 7th Season) will return to the role of 'Charlie Price' in the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) beginning today, Tuesday, July 17, 2018. He will play a limited run through Sunday, September 9, 2018. Cook succeeds Tyler Glenn (lead singer of the multi-platinum rock band, Neon Trees) who played his last performance on Sunday, July 15, 2018.

The Group Rep's well received production of Neil Simon's classic farce RUMORS, directed by Doug Engalla, produced by Alyson York, has been extended due to critical acclaim and sold out houses. The play about five neurotic couples who gather for a dinner party celebrating one couple's 10th anniversary, goes wildly awry when guests arrive early only to discover their host has shot himself, the hostess and servants are missing, and dinner not ready. Confusions and miscommunications mount, as the evening spins off into farcical hilarity. The play, which opened June 15, will run through August 11th at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood, at the edge of the NoHo Arts District.

The Houston Shakespeare Festival (HSF) is joining educational forces with Houston Public Library and Children's Museum of Houston to host HSF Kids Days. This year, families will get a chance to explore the world of theater with free Bard-inspired arts and crafts at three locations.

The 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival boasts the highest ever ticket revenue, smashing the new records set during the 2017 festival. 66,301 tickets were issued to theatre-loving patrons over the 12-day festival. As Fringe returns 100% of net box office revenue, this means that $531,293.50 is going straight into the pockets of the artists. Ticket prices were raised this year from $10 + services fees to $11 + service fees, which contributed to the increase in revenue.

The person seated in the back of the orchestra section on opening night of the Encores! Off-Center concert mounting of GONE MISSING, who was loudly sobbing during the closing song, was by no means causing a disturbance. In fact, the choked-up moans of heartbreak being emitted throughout New York City Center's auditorium many times during the performance were simply bringing to the surface the sadness that served as the evening's subtext, even for those who did not know the clever and touching revue's late composer/lyricist personally.

Cabaret patroness Madame Mathieu has selected two-time Tony Award nominee Bob Stillman (Grey Gardens, Kiss of the Spider Woman) and MTV's Paul Iacono (The Hard Times of RJ Berger, FAME) as guests of honor at the July 26th edition of Bistro Awards Critics' Pick Madame Mathieu's Soiree. The duo will be joined on the program by a distinguished group of emerging artists from a variety of disciplines.

Today, SHOWTIME was recognized with 21 Primetime Emmy Award nominations,including the network's first limited series nomination for PATRICK MELROSE, THE FOURTH ESTATE for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series and four actor nominations for PATRICK MELROSE's Benedict Cumberbatch,SHAMELESS' William H. You might know today's subject Joshua Morgan from his many performances in and around the DC area. He has worked at such prestigious local theatres as Arena Stage, Theater J, Folger Theatre, and Rep Stage. He also ran a wonderful theatre company called No Rules Theatre Company for years.

Judy Kuhn, Tony-nominated star of "Fun Home" and Broadway's original "Les Miz" and the voice of Disney's "Pocahontas" returns to P-Town on July 15 & 16 at 7:00 PM; Adam Pascal, star of the original Broadway cast of "Rent," as well as the film version lights up the Art House stage on July 17 at 6:00 PM; Christine Ebersole, the two-time Tony Award winning star of "Grey Gardens" and "War Paint" appears on July 19 & 20 at 6:00 PM; Will Swenson, Tony nominee for the revival of 'Hair' and most recently a star of the hit musical comedy "Disaster!," performs on July 28 & 29 at 7:00 PM. Sirius XM radio star Seth Rudetsky joins each performance as pianist and host.

Encores! Off-Center, New York City Center's popular summer musical theater series, continues tonight with Gone Missing. John Behlmann, Susan Blackwell, Aysan Celik, Deborah S. Craig, Taylor Mac, and David Ryan Smith will star in the special two-night-only engagement, presented in honor of composer and 2017 Encores! Artistic Director Michael Friedman.

Following her breakout role in the comedy “Blockers,” newcomer Geraldine Viswanathan is set to co-star with Hugh Jackman in the Automatik film “Bad Education' Variety reports.
