Chicago audiences will be the first to see August Rush: The Musical, a world premiere musical crafted by some of the top creative artists working in American theater today, based on the Oscar-nominated Warner Bros. film about a musically gifted orphan and the search for his birth parents.

Following a bumper year of five shows which saw East Midlands theatre company New Perspectives premiere their Stage Award winning show The Fishermen, a new production based on John Berger's masterpiece A Fortunate Man, and a first-time collaboration with Midland's rural touring company Pentabus on Crossings, New Perspectives have announced two rural touring productions for 2019. The Man Without A Past, a new adaptation of Finnish film, and a new production of debbie tucker green's trade join their 2019 programme, which has already seen the first of this year's international appearances with A Fortunate Man presented at the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival in January, one of only two British companies to take part in the festival.

The 50th anniversary production of Hair the Musical is about to embark on its 2019 UK tour. We asked some of the cast and creatives why the show is such an enduring success - plus we got a sneak peek of rehearsals. Watch the full interview below!

Red Bull Theater begins performances tonight Tuesday March 19th for John Webster's The White Devil at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street between Bleecker & Hudson Streets). Opening Night is set for March 31st. The limited Off-Broadway engagement will continue through April 14th.

One of the biggest hits in musical theatrical history, CATS comes to Segerstrom Center for the Arts April 9 - 14, 2019 as part of its North American Tour.

The 360-degree new wave cabaret, features a hit setlist including 'Rebel Yell,' 'Try A Little Tenderness,' and 'Don't You Forget About Me,' from favorite 1980's teen flicks 'Sixteen Candles,' 'Fast Times At Ridgemont High,' 'The Breakfast Club,' 'St. Elmos Fire,' 'Pretty In Pink,' "Valley Girl," 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' 'Some Kind Of Wonderful' and 'Say Anything.' Be kind and rewind into the 80's teenage dream, beginning March 15 every Thursday - Sunday through June 9.

It could not be a better time for the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres to be opening their run of ABBA's famous jukebox musical, Mamma Mia. Just as the sun is finally starting to peek out from this awful winter we've had, many of us got transported to a beautiful island in Greece with some incredible songs and a cast that sparkles just like a sequin disco jumpsuit.

San Jose Stage Company (Randall King, Artistic Director and Cathleen King, Executive Director) has announced the complete cast and creative team for The Stage's next production, the World Premiere of Luis Valdez's ADIÓS MAMÁ CARLOTA. Presented in partnership with El Teatro Campesino and directed by Kinan Valdez, ADIÓS MAMÁ CARLOTA will run from April 3 - 28 2019 at San Jose Stage Company (490 South 1st Street, San Jose, CA, 95113).

The Garden of Dreams Talent Show is an annual event where children from various Garden of Dreams partner organizations are presented with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall. For one memorable evening in front of their family and friends, the children perform their talents, forgetting their problems and celebrating their unique voices. The Talent Show and multiple rehearsals leading up to the big night attract many notable guests as mentors. 

The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival, the annual festival that honors legendary novelist Philip K. Dick through the dynamic power of science fiction film, is returning for its seventh outing with a full schedule of events. The festival screens on Thursday, March 7th in Astoria, Queens and on Saturday, March 9th in Midtown Manhattan.

The UofSC Dept. of Theatre and Dance, in partnership with the Colorectal Cancer Prevention Network (CCPN), will present a special engagement of Stages by David Lee Nelson at the Lab Theatre, March 7-8.
