Make no mistake about it: the current production of Mamma Mia!, the musical theater hit now onstage at Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall is just as entertaining, just as over-the-top in all its ABBAesque glory that audiences cannot help but be awestruck by the sheer theatricality of the piece, enthralled by the cavalcade of songs that provide the show's score and delighted by the efforts of the company's talented and eager-to-please and generally eye-poppingly gorgeous ensemble.

There's a lot to learn about the two actors - Kyra Belle Johnson, who's cast as Sophie, and Stephen Ecklemann, who takes on the role of her boyfriend Sky - playing the young leads in Mamma Mia!, the ABBA-inspired musical that lands at Nashville's Tennessee Performing Arts Center next Today night for an eight-performance run.

Linzi Hateley returns to the role of Donna Sheridan in the global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! at London's Novello Theatre from Monday 13 June 2016.  This is a role she has played twice before in London - from 2007-2009 and in 2010.  Her other recent theatre credits include the national tour of Barnum, London Road (National Theatre) and Les Miserables (Queen's Theatre).  Linzi also appeared in the film version of London Road.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the final production in the third smash season of Chicago's "lost" musicals in staged concert series, Porchlight Revisits Chess, music by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, lyrics by Tim Rice and Bjorn Ulvaeus and book by Tim Rice, with direction by Porchlight Artistic Director Michael Weber, choreography by Porchlight Artistic Associate Brenda Didier and music direction by Jimmy Morehead. Porchlight Revisits Chess is presented for three-nights-only Tuesday, May 3 through Thursday, May 5 at 7:15 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's Dreamgirls (previews begin April 8) on nights when there are no performances at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Tickets for Chess are $30 in advance and $35 at the door the night of the performance. All tickets include access to the popular pre-performance event, Behind the Show Backstory, a multi-media presentation, created and hosted by Weber, that discusses that evening's production including the show's creative history, juicy backstage gossip and more. The international smash-hit musical Mamma Mia! opened last night in Christchurch at the beautifully restored Isaac Theatre Royal. It is the first of three hotly anticipated musicals to be put on by Showbiz Christchurch this year as part of a national consortium of theatre production partners.

Pioneer Theatre Company, Utah's premier professional theatre, will open its 2016-17 season with the THE LAST SHIP, the new musical with music and lyrics by the pop superstar Sting and book by the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning writers John Logan and Brian Yorkey. PTC's production will be the first since the show's Broadway run in 2014-15.

Full casting has been announced for the sensational feel-good musical MAMMA MIA! which comes to Edinburgh from Tuesday 29 November 2016 to Saturday 7th January 2017 as part of its first ever UK tour 2016.

Theatre Aspen announced today a new partnership with the Wheeler Opera House that will launch with a special concert featuring Broadway, television and recording star Susan Egan.  The concert takes place Sunday, March 6th, at 8 pm.  Tickets are available at aspenshowtix.com and are priced at $55.

After bursting onto the cabaret scene in a high-powered sold-out show last February, Jessica Vosk (Fiddler on the Roof, Finding Neverland) is making her solo Joe's Pub debut tonight, February 1st.

Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid (Frida) Lyngstad, the original members of ABBA, made a rare group appearance last night at the opening of an ABBA-inspired restaurant, Mamma Mia! The Party in Stockholm.

Theatre Aspen announced the lineup for its 33rd season today. The Hurst Theatre opens with the regional premiere of the megahit musical MAMMA MIA!, running in repertory with the one man comedy Buyer and Cellar and the musical Dear Edwina. The organization also announced the return of the Aspen Theatre Festival for new work at the end of August.
