For the first time in more than 10 years Blackpool is hosting a Summer Season of a major West End musical production. The International Tour of the worldwide hit MAMMA MIA! will be staged exclusively in the resort with Blackpool Opera House being the only UK date outside of London to host the production next year.

'Year of the Composer' is an ambitious theatrical offering that brings musical greats Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cole Porter, and ABBA to the professional non-profit theater group that performs at the G&L Theatre in North Naples.

With 24 of the 33 cast members changing on Monday 10 June 2013 at the Novello Theatre, this represents the largest cast change the London production of the smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! has seen since it first opened at in 1999.

The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc., will welcome West End star and Platinum-selling Swedish recording star Peter Joback to the New York cast this summer. Mr. Joback will assume the title role for a limited engagement from today, April 29 through Saturday, August 24, 2012.

Today in 1988, Chess opened at the Imperial Theatre, where it ran for 68 performances. Chess is a musical with music by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, formerly of ABBA, and with lyrics by Tim Rice.
