After highly praised runs in New York, London, and Edinburgh, the award-winning solo musical The Lion will play a strictly limited engagement at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater (1127 Market St., San Francisco) April 19-May 1, 2016.
Award-winning singer/songwriter Benjamin Scheuer's solo musical The Lion makes its Washington, D.C. debut at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Scheuer uses his guitar-actually, six guitars-to take audiences on a rock 'n' roll journey and tell a heartwarming coming-of-age story that explores his transition from boyhood to manhood. Called an "irresistible winner" and "deeply moving" by New York Daily News, The Lion is presented in association with Eva Price and runs February 26-April 10, 2016 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle.
The Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) and the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University will present the 11th Annual Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project. The weeklong songwriting workshop for emerging songwriters and writing teams will take place from June 19 through 25, on Northwestern's Evanston campus.

Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced that the annual WTF Gala will be held at City Winery in New York City (155 Varick Street) on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 6:30 PM. Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced two productions as part of Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming 2016-2017 season: the New York premiere of Vietgone, the new play by Qui Nguyen (She Kills Monsters), directed by May Adrales (Luce); and the world premiere of Sell/Buy/Date, the new play written and performed by Tony Award winner Sarah Jones (Bridge and Tunnel), directed by Carolyn Cantor (Fly By Night).

Following its hit productions of "The Lion," and "I and You," Merrimack Repertory Theatre prepares to mount "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play." The charming adaptation by Joe Landry presents the story of the classic film as a 1940's radio drama. George Bailey's timeless tale of renewal comes to life with five actors gathered around microphones to voice more than 40 characters and create sound effects live onstage, with live "studio" audience response an integral part of the broadcast.
