Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) has announced its 2015-16 Season, newly named Artistic Director Sean Daniels' inaugural season.

Yesterday afternoon, Tony and Oscar winner Joel Grey hosted a special performance of Benjamin Scheuer's The Lion, with guests including Ben Vereen, Penny Fuller, Ron Rifkin, Sam Shahid, Paul Downs Collaizo, Reeve Carney, and more. Producer Eva Price has announced that Benjamin Scheuer, writer and performer of the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show The Lion, has been awarded the 2015 ASCAP Foundation Jamie deRoy & friends Songwriting Award. He will receive a grant of $1,250, which will be presented on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) just announced two productions for Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming 2015-2016 theatrical season. MTC's Off-Broadway season at New York City Center (131 West 55th Street) will feature the American premiere of Incognito by Nick Payne, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes and Important Hats of the Twentieth Century, the world premiere comedy by Nick Jones, directed by Moritz Von Stuelpnagel.

Four productions still remain in Geva Theatre Center's 42nd Season: A Body of Water, Lee Blessing's play of memory and identity; The Mountaintop, a reimagining of Martin Luther King's last night on earth; the world premiere of Cass Morgan's journey to discover her roots - The Road to Where; and the season's grand finale, the laugh-out-loud comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. The 2014-2015 Season continued Geva's innovative efforts to connect patrons and artists and art with the community. The 2015-2016 Season will continue to build on that and also usher in a new era as Geva's historic home begins to undergo renovation and transformation.

Producer Eva Price is proud to announce that The Lion, the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, will play the Portland Center Stage (128 NW 11th Avenue, Portland, OR 97209) from May 2 through June 14, 2015, with the national tour officially launching on August 22, 2015 at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell, Massachusetts (50 East Merrimack Street).
