The Colorado Springs Chorale proudly announces its 31st annual Deck the Hall concert at Pikes Peak Center on Friday evening, December 8, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. The event features the Colorado Springs Chorale with a guest instrumental ensemble, and it will feature the Summit Ensemble and Pikes Peak Singers of the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale directed by Kimberley Schultz and Victoria Lipscomb respectively. Also, KCME and Jazz 93.5 FM radio personality Jana Lee Ross will read an excerpt from the beloved classic The Wind in the Willows, and large projections of illustrations by local artist/illustrator Michael Hague. The Sarasota Ballet's second production of the Season, Metropolitan, will open on December 1 at the Sarasota Opera House, with a triple bill by Sir Frederick Ashton, Marcelo Gomes and George Balanchine. For these performances The Sarasota Ballet will be accompanied by the Sarasota Orchestra under the baton of American Ballet Theatre Music Director Ormsby Wilkins.

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced Lincoln Center's 2017 White Light Festival, which runs from October 18 through November 15. With more than 35 events presented in 13 venues throughout the city, including U.S. and New York premieres and nine commissions, the eighth annual international festival will explore transcendence, interior illumination, and faith in the human spirit, as exhibited through artistic expression across continents and centuries. The multidisciplinary festival takes its name from a quotation by Estonian composer Arvo Part: "Icouldcomparemymusic to white light, which contains all colors. Only a prism can divide the colors and make them appear; this prism could be the spirit of the listener."
