Christine Brewer Returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall in Colburn Celebrity Series Recital

American soprano Christine Brewer returns to the Walt Disney Concert Hall stage in a recital of songs by a diverse lineup of composers, Tuesday, June 1, at 8 p.m. She is joined by pianist Craig Rutenberg making his Walt Disney Concert Hall debut. The Colburn Celebrity Series event is the final series performance of the LA Phil's 2009/10 season.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City will join the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys and the Orchestra of St. Luke's conducted by John Scott in a performance of the Saint Nicolas Cantata in a concert of hymn tunes by Benjamin Britten at Saint Thomas Church (Fifth Avenue at 53rd St.) on Wednesday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m.

Royal Albert Hall Presents Sunday Classical Concerts Through 4 June

Following the re-opening of the Elgar Room at the end of 2009 and the continued success of the ignite series, the Royal Albert Hall have collaborated with their neighbours at the Royal College of Music to offer an exciting new series of concerts. Launching at the beginning of April, these Classical Coffee Mornings give audiences the chance to listen to outstanding talent from the College as their students give Sunday morning classical recitals in the Hall's very own Elgar Room. With an inclusive offer that includes a hot drink and a pastry, this is the perfect opportunity to relax on a Sunday morning whilst listening to some truly exceptional musicians. Commencing on Sunday 4 April with the vocal and piano duo Paula Sides & Kumi Matsuo, this new series continues on select Sundays until June.

National Theatre Features Stephens, Amuka-Bird & Harewood in 2010 Productions

The National Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming productions, starting with Moira Buffini's WELCOME TO THEBES which will run starting June 15. Nikki Amuka-Bird and David Harewood will star in the World Premiere of the play, which tells the Greek myth of the first democratically elected president of Thebes in a modernized way. The show will be directed by Richard Eyre and the cast will also feature Madeline Appiah, Rakie Ayola, Omar Brown, Jessie Burton, Jacqueline Defferary, Daniel Fine, Karlina Grace, Rene Gray, Tracy Ifeachor, Irma Inniss, Chuk Iwuji, Alexia Khadime, Ferdinand Kingsley, Aicha Kossoko, Simon Manyonda, Bruce Myers, Pamela Nomvete, Calre Perkins, Victor Power, Daniel Poyser, Joy Richardson, Vinette Robinson, Zara Tempest-Walters, and Michael Wildman.
