Robin Williams Set to Relaunch 'Weapons of Self-Destruction' Tour 9/30

The New York Times is reporting that actor and comedian Robin Williams will relaunch his 'Weapons of Self-Destruction' comedy tour in Bloomington, Ind., on Sept. 30. The tour was postponed after Mr. Williams underwent a three-and-a-half-hour procedure at the Cleveland Clinic in March to replace his aortic valve, repair his mitral valve and correct his irregular heartbeat.

Paul Weitz In Talks to Direct 'LITTLE FOCKERS'

Variety is reporting that 'About a Boy' director Paul Weitz is in talks to direct 'Little Fockers', the third instalment of the 'Meet the Parents' franchise. 'Get Smart' helmer Pete Segal was in talks to direct 'Little Fockers' but it now looks as if Weitz is the front runner.

Ben Stiller Stars In Noah Baumbach's New Untitled Project, Production Underway in LA

Production began last week in Los Angeles on the untitled film starring Ben Stiller for writer/director Noah Baumbach, an Academy Award nominee for his original screenplay of The Squid and the Whale (which he also directed). Scott Rudin, an Academy Award winner as producer of No Country for Old Men, and Jennifer Jason Leigh are producing the movie, to which Focus Features holds worldwide rights. Focus CEO James Schamus made the announcement today.

The New York Times is reporting that actor and comedian Robin Williams is recovering from heart surgery he underwent Friday, after a health scare that forced the postponement of his 'Weapons of Self-Destruction' tour.

Segal Looks Set to 'Parent' Upcoming 'LITTLE FOCKERS'

Variety reports Pete Segal, the director of the hit comedy, Get Smart is the frontrunner to direct Little Fockers, the third installment in the Universal Pictures/Tribeca Prods. franchise. The trade paper reports that Segal's schedule has opened up as plans to make Get Smart 2 have been put on hold as Steve Carell has signed on to star in Date Night with Tina Fey for Fox.

Broadway bound comedy star Robin Williams has postponed four performances of his one-man show in Florida. According to a statement on the actor's website, 'Williams was experiencing shortness of breath and is currently being evaluated by doctors who are recommending a week of rest.' The statement says the comedian will reschedule the performances at a later date. Williams, 57, has been touring Weapons of Self Destruction since September 2008 and will be bringing it to Broadway with a stop the Neil Simon Theater - on April 23rd through the 29th and May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2009.

For the first time in seven years, Robin Williams is set to return to the New York stage. Broadway will welcome Williams, who will perform his one man show, 'Weapons of Self-Destruction.' It was announced last week, that after a hugely successful, sold-out 80-city US tour, Williams will appear in a limited engagement at the Neil Simon Theater - on April 28th, 29th and May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2009. Now, Ticketmaster has announced the addition of 3 additional shows, on April 23rd, 24th and 25th for Williams at the Neil Simon Theatre.

DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS Extends Its Run Until 3/1

Desire Under the Elms at Goodman Theater opens tonight. Rumors have spread that the show has Broadway in its sights, and hopes to come to New York next spring. The show has been extended before opening night, as it will now play through March 1. Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls and renowned actor Brian Dennehy bring their artistic partnership to new heights with Eugene O'Neill's haunting drama, Desire Under the Elms-marking their fifth collaboration on O'Neill's work over two decades.
