Spirit Awards Announce This Year's Nominations

The Independent Spirit Awards have announced the nominations for the upcoming 28th annual awards ceremony, set for Feb. 23. Check out the full list of nominations below:

As previously reported, Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 is headed to the West End, with an opening night set for October 16 at the Manchester Opera House. The Daily Mail announces today that Jackie Clune will play 'Violet,' alongside Bonnie Langford as 'Roz,' Natalie Casey as 'Judy,' Ben Richards as 'Franklin Hart' and Amy Lennox as 'Doralee.'

BBC America Co-Produces New Drama Series OUTCASTS

BBC AMERICA today announced the co-production of a new high concept drama Outcasts. From Kudos Film & TV, the makers of award-winning and international hit series Life on Mars, MI-5, Hustle and Occupation, Outcasts takes viewers into a new world as it explores humans' drive for power, politics and sex in a new post-earth era. Created by Ben Richards (MI-5), the new explosive series stars Eric Mabius (Ugly Betty, The L Word), Liam Cunningham (Clash Of The Titans) and Hermione Norris (MI-5, Wire In The Blood).

PRISCILLA Extends in UK; Donovan to Depart May 29

BroadwayWorld has learned that the West End hit, PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT, has been extended for a fourth time and will continue to play the Palace Theatre into 2011. Bookings are open through 28 May 2011. The show's star, Jason Donovan hangs up his heels and says farewell to PRISCILLA on 29 May, 2010 after 14 months and over 450 performances.

Ben Richards Goes from Boy in Blue to Boy in Drag in PRISCILLA

PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT star Ben Richards is making a big change from his current job to the drag-filled show. Before returning to the stage, Richards played police officer Bruno Mulligan on the hit British television show 'Footballers' Wives.'

'Ugly Betty's Eric Mabius Joins BBC Series 'Outcasts'

According to Deadline.com, 'Ugly Betty' alum Eric Mabius will star in a new drama series for BBC One. From one of the top U.K. production companies, Kudos Film and Television and creator Ben Richards, 'Outcasts' is an eight-episode sci-fi series set in 2040. The series takes place after a biological catastrophe kills the human population of Earth, 50,000 survivors of the disaster reside on a life-support plant in a near-by solar system and are faced with starting a new civilazation.
