Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the final mainstage production it its 2016 - 2017 season Marry Me a Little starring Austin Cook and Bethany Thomas, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and originally conceived by Craig Lucas and Norman Rene, with direction by Jess McLeod and music direction by Porchlight Artistic Associate Cook. Previews are Friday, April 14 at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 15 at 8 p.m., Sunday, April 16 at 2 p.m. and Monday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. Opening night is Tuesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. with an added matinee performance Thursday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m. NOTE There are no 7:30 p.m. performances Thursday, April 20 and  May 11 and no 4 p.m. performance  Saturday, April 22. Tickets to Marry Me a Little are available at PorchlightMusicTheatre.org or by calling the Stage 773 box office, 773.327.5252.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. to perform The Ben Folds Project April 17-23, 2017, as a part of the Ballet Across America series. The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts celebrates the musical legacy of Henry Mancini, one of the world's greatest composers, conductors and arrangers, on Saturday, April 1, 2017. From 'Moon River' to 'The Days of Wine and Roses' to the 'Peter Gunn Theme,' the music of Henry Mancini has helped define American film and television soundtracks for nearly five decades, and earned the legendary composer four Academy Awards, twenty Grammy Awards and numerous other honors, including a U.S. Postage Stamp. The evening not only honors Henry Mancini, but also celebrates Ginny Mancini and the Mancini family with a special performance by the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami-their first Los Angeles appearance since their move to Florida-with all proceeds benefiting the artistic, educational and outreach programs of The Wallis.

Minnesota Orchestra Announces Live at Orchestra Hall, Holiday and Jazz Concerts

The Minnesota Orchestra today announced plans for the 2017-18 seasons of its Live at Orchestra Hall, Holiday Concerts and Jazz in the Target Atrium series. Live at Orchestra Hall, a series of popular music, jazz, Broadway classics, movie scores, world music and other genres, is led by Principal Conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall Sarah Hicks. She conducts many of the series' concerts, including those with Rufus Wainwright and Cloud Cult, return performances with Pink Martini and Ben Folds, and screenings of four major feature films, with scores performed live. The Holiday season includes December concerts that range from a newly created Minnesota Orchestra Holiday Show, led by Hicks, directed by Peter Rothstein and featuring new work by storyteller-playwright Kevin Kling; to the return of Merry and Bright: A Big Brassy Christmas with Charles Lazarus; to the Orchestra's first-ever performance at Orchestra Hall of Bach's glorious Christmas Oratorio, led by beloved German conductor Helmuth Rilling.
