To clear away your post-election blues, Lin-Manuel Miranda turned to Twitter yesterday to announce that a second installment of the Hamilton Mixtape is in the works! 

Multiplatinum-selling singer, songwriter and producer Ben Folds will join the Houston Symphony in a one-night-only performance of his acclaimed Concerto for Piano and Orchestra and alternative-pop hits on March 16, 2017.

Shortly before midnight on the east coast (and the middle of the night in the UK where Miranda is currently in production for Disney's Mary Poppins sequel) Lin-Manuel Miranda dropped two surprise tracks from the much anticipated, upcoming Hamilton Mixtape featuring covers of songs from the hit musical by contemporary artists.

Good news for HAMILTON fans. Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter this morning to announce that the highly-anticipated HAMILTON Mixtape will be available for pre-order tomorrow.

The six-member New York City-based ensemble yMusic, which has shown incredible virtuosity and versatility through genre-bending collaborations with both classical and mainstream artists, plays in Zankel Hall on Friday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m. Alongside works by alternative style pop musicians like Son Lux and Sufjan Stevens, and indie classical composers like Andrew Norman, Judd Greenstein, and Timo Andres, yMusic gives the world premiere performance of two works by MacArthur Fellow Chris Thile and Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw, commissioned by Carnegie Hall as part of its 125 Commissions Project. The group's program also includes the US premiere of Missy Mazzoli's new work, Ecstatic Science.

The National Symphony Orchestra, led by guest conductor Jacomo Bairos, launches its second season of DECLASSIFIED at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall on Friday, November 18, with composer/performer Bryce Dessner, the multifaceted guitarist of the indie rock band The National. This season builds on the momentum of last year's inaugural season of DECLASSIFIED concerts, with integrated activities and aesthetics in the Kennedy Center Grand Foyer, pre- and post- concert. All tickets are $39.

Haven Theatre Company announces How We Got On to begin their fourth season, written by Idris Goodwin and directed by Jess McLeod, at the company's new home within the Den Theatre's new Bookspan Theatre, 1335 Milwaukee Ave., September 29 - November 12. Previews are Thursday, Sept. 29 - Saturday, Oct.1 at 8 p.m. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. The regular performance schedule is Thursdays - Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Regular run tickets are $32, senior tickets are $20 and college/industry tickets are $15 (preview tickets are $12).
