Michael Barrett, CEO and General Director of Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, today announced the lineup for the 2011 Caramoor International Music Festival, which opens on June 25 and offers enormous appeal to all audiences with a rich array of artists and repertoire from the worlds of classical, jazz, Latin, pop and American Roots music. The 66th season of this iconic summer festival - which is held annually at the Center's distinguished 90-acre garden estate in Katonah, New York - will run from June 25 to August 10.
Renee Fleming will reprise her tour-de-force portrayal of the title character in Rossini's virtuosic rarity Armida for a run of performances beginning February 18.
In April of 2010 the Metropolitan Opera mounted the company premiere production of Rossini's opera Armida starring American soprano Renée Fleming in the title role. Fleming had previously triumphed at the opera house in other lesser-known operas (Il Pirata, Thaïs, Rodelinda and others) and so it was with great acclaim that the Met staged this bel canto rarity specifically for the soprano. The May 1, 2010 performance was broadcast as part of the Met's Live in HD series and it is now brought to DVD by Decca - available February 15, 2011.

He has conducted symphonies, concertos, operas, and oratorios for more than 50 companies on four continents.As a frequent guest conductor, Joseph Rescigno has conducted the New York City Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Washington National Opera, Hungarian State Opera, Opera Theater of St. Louis, Seattle Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Vancouver Opera, Teatro Bellini, l'Opéra de Marseille, and l'Opéra de Montreal among others.
