Sylvia Milo's award-winning THE OTHER MOZART, directed by Isaac James Byrne, is the true, untold story of Nannerl Mozart, the sister of Amadeus -- a prodigy, keyboard virtuoso and composer, who performed throughout Europe with her brother to equal acclaim, but her work and her story faded away, lost to history. On Saturday, October 24th, Samantha Hoefer will premiere in the role of Nannerl Mozart, then continue, alternating performances with Sylva Milo.

Soho Rep. and Ars Nova present the New York premiere of Cesar Alvarez's FUTURITY, opening tonight, October 20, and running through November 15, 2015. Directed by Soho Rep. Artistic Director Sarah Benson, FUTURITY is a new, avant-Americana musical with music by Alvarez and The Lisps, and lyrics and book by Alvarez. The production, which features 13 actor-musicians, is presented at the Connelly Theater (220 E. 4th St.) and in association with Carole Shorenstein Hays.

The Playwrights Realm has selected four early-career playwrights for its 2015-16 Writing Fellows program: Sam Chanse, Lauren Feldman, Jonathan Payne, and David Zax.

The Oregon Trail, written by Bekah Brunstetter, follows Jane though her own struggles from a teenager in the late 1990's to a present day adult with depression. Whenever Jane hits rock bottom, she relies on escaping into the world of the computer game, The Oregon Trail. Simultaneously, another Jane from Missouri is told that she must leave her home with her sister, Mary Jane, and her father, Clancy, to journey to Oregon in a small covered wagon. Flying V Theatre's The Oregon Trail, directed by Amber McGinnis Jackson, does not successfully complete its journey due to a bumpy production that is full of too much 90's nostalgia, unrelatable present day female characters, and stale jokes.

InViolet Theater Company, under the direction of Founding Co-Artistic Directors Michael Henry Harris and Angela Razzano, In association with Melanie Maras, Bryan Tallevi and Andrea Kiefer have announced the off-off Broadway run of SOMMERFUGL, a new play written by Bixby Elliot inspired by the true story of Lili Elbe, the first person to have gender reassignment surgery in 1930.
