The Paul Dresher Ensemble has announced the creative team and dates for the world premiere of the new musical MAX UNDERSTOOD created by Nancy Carlin and Michael Rasbury, and directed by celebrated opera and theater director David Schweizer. This innovative musical theater production will have a two week run April 15th through 26th at San Francisco's Cowell Theater, with an Opening Night on Thursday, April 16, 2015.

Now in its 37th year, this version of A Christmas Carol, adapted by Paul Walsh and Carey Perloff, stays true to the heart of Dickens's timeless story of redemption and brings a playful sensibility to his rich language. A Christmas Carol runs December 6-28, 2013, at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater (415 Geary Street, San Francisco). Press night is Wednesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. VIP seating is available for all performances. Based on a Japanese legend, MU is a beguiling tale both otherworldly and deeply personal. Three performances take place in Kanbar Hall tonight, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 at 8 pm, with a 2 pm matinee on Sunday, Sept. 29, to be followed by a national tour.

The holiday spirit is taking over San Francisco's Union Square tomorrow and A.C.T. is playing its part to usher it in. A.C.T. core acting company member and Master of Fine Arts Program graduate Omozé Idehenre, who plays The Ghost of Christmas Present in this year's production of A Christmas Carol, will emcee the opening ceremonies for the Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square.
