Transporting audiences to an era of mobsters, moonshine, and murder, Cynthia von Buhler's SPEAKEASY DOLLHOUSE brings an actual unsolved Prohibition-era murder to life in the downtown building that once served as mobster Meyer Lansky's hangout. For three upcoming Saturday performances - November 16, November 23, and December 7 - Tony Award nominee Euan Morton will step into the DOLLHOUSE to play the role of bandleader "Henry Azelrod," performing with members of the jazz band Grandpa Musselman & His Syncopators.
Bay Street Theatre has announced that Scott Schwartz, a leading voice of the next generation of American theater, has joined Bay Street as its new Artistic Director. Bonnie Comley and Stewart F. Lane hosted the welcome party at a private club in New York City to celebrate his arrival and to introduce him to Bay Street Theatre patrons and members of the Broadway community of actors, directors and producers. STAGES, a children's theater workshop, is bringing its 19th Annual Halloween Bash Frankenstein Follies, a Halloween-themed musical revue directed and choreographed by Helene Leonard back to Bay Street Theatre. Frankenstein Follies will be performing on Friday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, October 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15, which include the show and the fun carnival bash immediately following the show. Seating is limited. Proceeds help support STAGES scholarship program.

The production, which will feature a cast of 27, will begin previews on Thursday, October 24 and open on Thursday, November 21 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).
