Real-life mother and son Tony and Emmy Award nominee Kate Burton (The Corn is Green, The Cherry Orchard, Hedda Gabler at the Huntington) and Morgan Ritchie (The Corn is Green) will play mother and son onstage together for the first time when they return to the Huntington Theatre Company for a lush new production of Anton Chekhov's passionate classic The Seagull. Huntington favorite Maria Aitken (The Cocktail Hour, Betrayal) will direct the Paul Schmidt translation of the classic of world drama about love, missed connections, and what it means to be an artist. Performances of The Seagull begin at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre on March 7, 2014.

The series kicked-off last night, January 27th, 2014 with Tony nominee Euan Morton, backed by Grandpa Musselman & His Syncopators. Mr. Morton and the six-piece jazz ensemble performed a repertoire of turn of the century ragtime, 1920?s jazz and depression-era swing by composers such as Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton and Duke Ellington. The special guest on Friday, January 24 at 8 pm will be violinist Randi Fishenfeld. Cost is $20. The music sessions will continue every Friday in January and February (excluding February 7) and will feature a different special guest each week, along with the music and fun of Nancy Atlas and the Nancy Atlas Project live in concert.

Shakespeare & Company announces its winter session of in-school Residencies, which culminate in three exciting productions ripe with wit, magic, trickery and love. Lenox Middle School will perform Much Ado About Nothing on Wednesday, January 15th at 7:00pm, the Hayground School in Bridgehampton, NY will perform A Midsummer Night's Dream on January 30th at 6:00pm at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor and Nessacus Middle School will perform Twelfth Night in February.
Bay Street Theatre has announced its upcoming February School Vacation Kids Camp, February 17-21. The camp is for ages 8 through 12, and runs from 9am - 3 pm each day at the Bay Street Theatre. Cost is $385 for the weeklong camp per child.
