Paper Mill Playhouse has announced casting for its winter comedy, Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. This touching and wickedly hysterical Tony Award-winning best play features Broadway, television and film veterans: Philippe Bowgen (Spike), Gina Daniels (Cassandra), Carolyn McCormick (Masha), Mark Nelson (Vanya), Michele Pawk (Sonia) and Jamie Ann Romero (Nina). Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will be directed by Don Stephenson. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will run eight times a week at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater from January 21 through February 15, 2015. The official press opening night is Sunday, January 25, at 7:00pm. Paper Mill Playhouse's 2014-2015 Season is sponsored by Investors Bank.

For parents looking for a fun and exciting activities for children, Barter Theatre is pleased to announce that registration is open for Barter Youth Academy's (BYA) 2015 spring theatre workshops. The deadline to register is fast approaching. Those registering before December 31 will receive a 15% early registration discount. During the past two years, Barter Youth Academy has grown from 89 students in Abingdon, more than 300 enrolled students throughout the region. Students ages 5-18, with all abilities and experience levels are welcome, and scholarships are available. Campuses are now located in Abingdon, Va., and Bristol, Kingsport and Mountain City in Tennessee.

Barter Theatre is launching a new College Playwriting Festival. College students from across the region have submitted plays for the opportunity to have their play performed for the public on the final day of the festival. Students will also be participating in workshops, discussions, and other theatre related events.

The Old Globe teams with the University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program to present William Shakespeare's Pericles, Prince of Tyre, directed by Ray Chambers and running tonight, November 15 - November 23 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

She's been a Rodgers and Hammerstein ingenue, an Oscar-winning actress, the coolest mom of the 1970s, and the author of a juicy tell-all book. She's Shirley Jones, and she is appearing at Barter Theatre for one night only, tonight, November 13th.

The Peter Mayer Group is coming to the region bringing the 14th annual national Christmas Show, Stars & Promises: Evergreen. Playing a blend of traditional favorites and original Christmas compositions, this unique musical journey of story and song is not to be missed. Mayer's dynamic ensemble uses a wide variety of folk, world music, rock, and jazz styling to accompany his virtuosic voice and guitar work, creating a musical journey of stories and songs. "The concert features music for the Christmas journey. A song to travel roads old and new to the peace and joy of Christmas, and share a song of hope to lead us on," says a release announcing the tour.

Laughter can be found at Bristol Riverside Theatre in Neil Simon's dramedy Lost in Yonkers playing today, November 11-30. Directed by Keith Baker, the ensemble cast features Joy Franz, David Nate Goldman, Bruce Graham, Eleanor Handley, Kyle Klein II, Karen Peakes, and Danny Vaccaro.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced its presentation of O'KEEFFE!, April 25 - May 17, 2015 in the Studio Theatre.

As part of Barter's commitment to provide quality entertainment at an affordable price, new tickets have been released starting at $50 for the wildly entertaining Shirley Jones performance on November 13th at 7:30 p.m. The celebrity event is being held on Barter Theatre Main Stage. All proceeds from this event go to Barter's Annual Fund for Artistic Excellence.

The Old Globe invites your participation and coverage as it begins presenting shows through an exciting new producing platform, Globe for All. This free-of-charge tour of a professional production of Shakespeare will allow the theatre to serve more communities throughout San Diego by collaborating with a diverse range of local organizations. Barter Theatre will host a one-night-only reading of '8' on October 22 at 7:15 pm at The Tent on Barter Square. '8' is a play chronicling the historic trial in the federal constitutional challenge to California's Proposition 8, an attempt to ban same-sex marriage, and is written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter and American Foundation of Equal Rights (AFER) Founding Board Member Dustin Lance Black.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) will open their 2014-15 season with Olives and Blood at the Nafe Katter Theatre today, October 2nd - 12th. Written by Michael Bradford, this new play stars Martin Sola as Juan Luis Trescante Medina, the aging fascist who claims responsibility for the murder of poet-playwright Federico Garcia Lorca, played by Nicholas Urda.
