This remarkable milestone-performance achievement has only occurred twice before in Broadway theatre history -- by Cats (which closed in its 18th year after 7,485 performances) and The Phantom of the Opera (now in its 26th year).

Friends and supporters sipped champagne and nibbled on exquisite hors d'oeuvres while learning about the exciting plans for the upcoming gala and the incredible live auction that will take place at the grand affair. As BroadwayWorld reported last week, FINDING NEVERLAND is now aiming for a Spring 2014 run at A.R.T. in Boston before heading back to the West End, and on to Broadway. PIPPIN's Diane Paulus -- who is the Artistic Director of the A.R.T. -- is directing the production. Now, according to the New York Times, Broadway producer Barry Weissler will executive produce the project. Weissler recently worked with the A.R.T. and Paulus on the recent Tony-winning revival of Pippin.

Celebrated Russian actress and singer Larisa Dolina is the next international star to make her Broadway debut in the record-breaking, Tony Award-winning musical smash CHICAGO. In the featured role of Matron 'Mama' Morton, Dolina will play a limited eight-performance engagement at Broadway's Ambassador Theatre (219 West 49th Street), tonight, August 13 through Sunday, August 18.

Producer Jay Michaels will host a new class, SWIM WITH SHARKS!, Learn the Tricks of the Trade from 35-year veteran of stage and film today.

In the featured role of Matron 'Mama' Morton, Dolina will play a limited eight-performance engagement at Broadway's Ambassador Theatre (219 West 49th Street), Tuesday, August 13 through Sunday, August 18.

Producers Barry and Fran Weissler announced today that celebrated talk show host and best-selling author Wendy Williams will now begin her Broadway debut engagement as Matron 'Mama' Morton in the Tony Award-winning musical smash CHICAGO on Friday, June 28.
