The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th St. & Lex) presents three world premieres, TODAY, Monday, November 2 through Wednesday, November 4 at 7:00pm.
Choreographer Henning Rübsam and his company SENSEDANCE present two programs at THE KAYE PLAYHOUSE at Hunter College, 68th Street & Lexington Avenue, NYC. A tribute to Rübsam's late mentor Beverly Blossom opens the run on Sunday, November 1, 2015 after which Rübsam shows new work with his company SENSEDANCE in the program AND THERE WAS MORNING. His ensemble will perform three world premieres to new music by contemporary composers, Monday – Wednesday, November 2 – 4, 2015. All curtain times are at 7:00pm.
The Stephen Petronio Company's 30th anniversary culminates in transformation: the launch of Bloodlines, a five-year project to incorporate dances by trailblazers of American postmodern dance into the Company's repertory and present them alongside new works by Stephen Petronio. The first season pairs RainForest, Merce Cunningham's iconic, 20th-century masterpiece, with Locomotor/Non Locomotor, Petronio's now complete two-part work.
Yesterday, December 5, The not-for-profit Clive Barnes Foundation announced Rent's MJ Rodriguez the winner of the 2011 award, which celebrates the work of young dancers and actors. The ceremony was held at The Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center.
The finalists for the first Clive Barnes Awards have just been announced. This year's awards will be presented by Frederic Franklin, CBE and Nina Arianda, last year's recipient.
