Beginning around the age of ten, and truly as long as Sebastian Schug can remember, he has had an interest in writing and illustration. Schug was just a teenager when his work as an illustrator appeared in a children's book series entitled, 'The Adventures of Daniel,' written by Schug's current business partner, author Rene Ghazarian.

On Wednesday, January 23, the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA), in partnership with The Columbus Foundation, held its first-ever Poetry Slam competition, crowning Playon Patrick in the youth category (18 and under) and Tyiesha Radford Shorts in the adult category (19+). Each was awarded a pair of tickets to attend the Broadway musical HAMILTON during its Columbus engagement.

The African & African American Performing Arts Coalition and K*Star*Productionshave announced the 15th anniversary edition of the Black Choreographers Festival: Here and Now (BCF), which will take place over four consecutive weekends, February 16 March 10, in San Francisco and Oakland. Following the opening two weekends at Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco, the Festival will move to SAFEhouse Arts at 145 Eddy Street for weekend three, with a final program at Laney College Theater in Oakland, March 9 10. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

Casting for the Chicago Premiere of AFTERGLOW, an off-Broadway hit from 2017 exploring the emotional, intellectual, and physical connections between three men and the broader implications within their relationships, has been announced by David G. Zak, the company's Executive Director who is directing the production. Rich Holton (SEX WITH STRANGERS at Citadel Theatre) and Jacob Barnes (URINETOWN at Red Barn Summer Playhouse and A COMEDY OF TENORS with Actors Theatre of Indiana) will play Josh and Alex, a married couple in an open relationship. The two invite another man, Darius, (Jesse Montoya of HURRICANE DAMAGE at Pride Films and Plays) to share their bed one night. When a new intimate connection begins to form, all three men must come to terms with their individual definitions of love, loyalty, and trust as futures are questioned, relationships are shaken, and commitments are challenged.

Eric Welch joins Theater RED as Artistic Associate following his collaboration with the company in June of 2018 for the Wisconsin premiere of I'LL EAT YOU LAST: A CHAT WITH SUE MENGERS.
