Fruitlands Museum presents two fascinating new exhibitions in the Art Museum this fall. Presented in partnership with the National Basketry Organization, All Things Considered VIII will feature a dazzling array of traditional and sculptural work made by the most accomplished contemporary basket makers from around the country. Hidden Hudson will showcase rarely seen works from Fruitlands' renowned Hudson River School landscape collection. Both exhibitions will be on view September 18 – November 22, 2015.
A glittering group representing theatre and technology worlds celebrated a beautiful friendship Saturday night when TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, staged its annual TheatreWorks Honors gala June 21 at the Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club, this year paying tribute to Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award-winning Broadway composer Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, The Addams Family, Big Fish) and Ray Rothrock, Partner Emeritus of pioneering venture capital firm Venrock. TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, lights up Palo Alto in November with its 11th annual ANYTHING GOES costume gala, to take place for the first time at the luxurious Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club.
TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, presents a night full of magical fun with its 11th annual Anything Goes -taking place for the first time this year at the luxurious Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club. For this unique fundraiser, guests are invited to visit TheatreWorks' massive costume shop in the weeks prior to the event, where they are able to choose their party attire from the hundreds of costumes used in TheatreWorks' past productions. In previous years, guests have been attired as everything from go-go dancers to the Pope, Cinderella's prince to Samurai warriors, and from Sweeney Todd to Lady Bracknell. This year's festivities will be conducted by the Master of Ceremonies, Golden Globe Award-winner and three-time Emmy-nominee Bill Grundfest. Attendees will enjoy a cocktail hour, followed by a sumptuous dinner, dessert dash, and live auction, then will dance the night away against the sweeping views of the Palo Alto Hills. Anything Goes takes place one night only, November 2, 2013, at Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club, 3000 Alexis Dr, Palo Alto. The event honorees were Chairman and Former CEO of Silicon Valley Bank Ken Wilcox and Tony-nominated Broadway composer Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre), both of whom have dedicated their lives to bringing forth vision, innovation, and creativity.
