Aurora Theatre Appoints Julie Saltzman New Managing Director

Berkeley's acclaimed Aurora Theatre Company announced today the appointment of Julie Saltzman as Managing Director of Aurora Theatre Company; she replaces Susan G. Duncan, who left the company in April. Saltzman joins the company directly from Chicago, where she served as the Producing Director at American Theater Company (ATC). Prior to ATC, she served as Managing Director at Seanachai Theatre Company, and has also held positions as Associate Producer, Production Manager, Stage Manager, and Production Assistant at various theaters throughout Chicago, including Victory Gardens, Strawdog Theatre Company, and Eclipse Theatre Company, and at regional theaters including Colorado Shakespeare Festival and Utah Shakespearean Festival. Saltzman's official start date at the Aurora will be November 2.

Aurora Gets Certified As First 'Green' Theater in Bay Area

Aurora Theater Co Accepts Submissions For Global Age Project, Deadline 8/1

Berkeley's acclaimed Aurora Theatre Company is proud to announce a call for submissions for its fifth season of the Global Age Project (GAP) festival of new works. The company will choose four new plays to be presented as staged readings with professional directors and actors during the GAP festival in February of 2010; the festival will coincide with the company's fully-staged World Premiere of 2009 GAP finalist Joel Drake Johnson's new play, The First Grade.
